
Farmardine here and I’m going to show you my butter hack that I use when I make my homemade crust. Normally you use a pastry cutter. This one’s from my mother. You can see that it’s kind of beat up. I’ve had it for a long time. She had it for a long time.
Take your butter, you freeze it, put it on and shred it just like you shred cheese. And I’m going to tell you something. This is going to save you a lot of work if you have to cut butter into flour. And you’ll see what I’m talking about in just a second.
A minute later, minute and a half, I got all this shredded. I’m going to put it into my flour. I’ve got two cups of flour. That’s going to start my pie. I will do a whole pie video so if you want to see it, you’re going to have to look me up.
All I’m doing is making this pea size. It won’t take me very long, maybe a minute. There we are. It’s all ready to go.
