One good potato

I’m here with Healthy Living. I want to talk potatoes. Did you know that there’s a difference in the glycemic index of potatoes, in other words, how much starch they have in? I didn’t know, so I started studying them.

Russet potatoes are the heaviest. The other ones are red potatoes, but the best ones are yellow potatoes. So let’s say you’re pre-diabetic or you’re diabetic or you want to lose weight, yellow potatoes are the one to use.

But I’m going to give you one secret: take, after you peel them, cut them up small, put them in water, soak them for an hour and you take out all that starch so you lower your glycemic index so you can eat potatoes in moderation. Never eat them every day. They’re bad for you.
