Farmer Dean here, and one thing nice about gardening is trying something new. So I’m going to show you what I’m going to do that’s brand new to me this year. I saw this hack about growing tomatoes all winter long from these cuttings. I’m going to try it myself, where you actually take these, and I’m going to show you, I’m going to put them in dirt and see if they’ll root, and I’m going to try to keep them all winter long. So next spring I have really big, healthy plants, because I’m tired of waiting. This way I should be able to get tomatoes in maybe the first of July or sooner.
Let’s go, and we’re going to show you how to plant these. So what I’ve done is I’ve cut off all those leaves, just leaving one. I don’t want it to desiccate, and I’m just going to stick them in all the way down. As soon as I get through, I’m going to water them. This is what they’re going to look like, okay? So I got these all watered in. I’m going to put a mini greenhouse. If I got enough moisture in there, it’ll moisten up the side. You don’t want it too moist. You don’t want it too dry. That’s the hack.
